I have already mentioned that if at this age a boy or girl begins to actively engage in sports, then the figure acquired during this period of time (subject to a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle) remains with them for many years. Even if they stop purposefully playing sports! It is enough to eat right so as not to overgrow with fat (see "Health Axioms"), and maintain muscle in tone, if possible, once or twice a week visiting the gym.

We continue the topic discussed in the previous chapter. Provided that if a child from 7 years old is already engaged in the program proposed above, then when he turns 14 years old, he can safely offer a choice of the following options:

A) Specialization in the field of "hand-to-hand combat".

B) Specialization in the direction of "Bodybuilding".

C) Specialization in RUB (a mixed direction of psychological and physical development of a person).

The school program of physical development and the program of all secondary specialized and higher educational institutions can and should include a choice of these three disciplines, even if you start with the physical education program that is mandatory today, which can be left as an experiment for those who wish to study it (if any) . But against the background of the first three disciplines, this nightmarish retro will look very, very wretched and will soon undoubtedly die out by itself.

The hand-to-hand combat program is simply the “Hand-to-hand combat” section presented in this book. In the warm-up there are almost all the strength exercises needed by a fighter. The trainer only needs to add to the above pull-ups on the horizontal bar (including super-wide grip), push-ups on the parallel bars, bench press lying down and lifting the bar for biceps. This simple set of exercises will be quite enough to maintain the tone of the muscles of the fighter.

The "Bodybuilding" section fully presents programs for those who want to seriously engage in this sport. But I note once again that without the use of anabolic steroids, an athlete has nothing to do at prestigious competitions. And this is always a serious health risk. Of course, purely natural training without the use of hormonal drugs is worthy of all respect. But at this age you want everything, a lot and immediately, which in life, unfortunately, does not happen. And natural bodybuilding requires the full dedication of all mental and physical strength, fanatical perseverance and remarkable will, which also need to be educated in yourself.

Therefore, I believe that the synthesis of hand-to-hand combat and bodybuilding not only complement each other in the process of forming a physically harmoniously developed personality, but are also two powerful disciplines in terms of personality development.

Such a synthesis is the RUB.

Of course, there must always be a choice. But if a boy or girl makes this choice, then as a result of several years of training they will not only get a great figure and master applied martial arts skills, but will also form the unbending power of the Spirit that will help them withstand any difficult life situations that have absolutely no attitude to the world of sports rings and bodybuilding podiums.

I want to end this chapter with a quote from “Dialogues” - the works of my student Alexei Lagutenkov, who has 7th grade according to the RUB.

- Your body is imperfect, you are weak. The fury of a weak person is ridiculous.

All these aspects can sometimes be difficult to put together (especially if there is no corresponding mood for this yet. As I wrote above, training the Will and the Spirit also requires desire and powerful motivation). In addition, modern lifestyle dictates its own rules. People disappear for weeks on business trips, many have irregular working hours, family, children, and thousands of reasons that somehow interfere with taking seriously their health. But the journey of a thousand starts with one step. And this chapter is the very first step towards our own health.

According to the program of “home aerobics” (which, if desired, can be called the fashionable word “fitness”), many people are engaged not only at home, but also in their office or hotel room. This training minimum, performed two to three times a week and taking from fifteen minutes to half an hour of your time in combination with the nutrition programs described in this chapter, will help you get rid of excess fat and may become a springboard for more serious workouts.

So, let's start with the question, what is health? Strange question, isn't it? Health is ... And what's next? Further ... Further, probably, in order to objectively answer this tricky question, it is necessary, after looking through the medical record from the clinic, to list a bunch of numbers for a long and tedious number - blood pressure, ESR, the number of red blood cells, white blood cells, the presence or absence of sugar in the urine and helminth eggs in another , a slightly less popular analysis. You can look for blackouts on shabby x-rays and try to make out the cunning cuneiform of the attending physician regarding these mysterious spots.

You can, at worst, go again to that same doctor, who, looking at you with a wise look and listening to the beating of your heart alarmed by strange questions through a stethoscope, will say: “Healthy”, at the same time recommending something like that new-fangled in tablets or potions for maintaining the notorious health, sold on the ground floor of the clinic at the price of Yakut diamonds.

And this victory is real!

In addition to all the negatives, civilization has given people a lot of advantages - otherwise why is it even needed? And among these advantages are scientifically based principles of nutrition, extensive knowledge in the field of anatomy and physiology of the human body, and again scientifically based principles of training. Because if without training, then I'm sorry, eat at least according to Malakhov, at least separately, at least with just one air, like advanced Indian yogis - all the same, inactivity will overtake. Because movement is not a whim of the author of this book, but a mandatory function of the body.

There is one simple truth that I wrote about above. If you want to gain weight, eat more, move less. If you want to lose weight - eat less, move more.
